Cyberpunk Horror Game Sense Reveals Voice Actresses after Passing $30,000 in Funding

Over the past few days, we reported about the cyberpunk horror game Sense – 不祥的预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story and how it passed its stretch goals for releases on PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch.

The game has now passed $30,000 in funding (it’s currently sitting on $31,283), and with twelve days to go, it’ll probably pass at least the $35,000 goal that includes voice acting and live instrument recording for the soundtrack.

In view of the upcoming goal, the developers posted an update revealing how voice acting will be done, and the names of three of the voices involved.

Since voicing everything would be impossible, given that there is a huge amount of text in the game (and the script is currently 30% complete, so there will be much more), “only certain NPCs, important narrative dialogue for Mei, and major narrative scenes” will be fully voiced. The game will also include sound bites for flavor and “thinking” dialogue.

It’s also important for the story that not everyone will speak English. Some characters will speak Japanese, others Cantonese, other broken and heavy-accented English.

Protagonist Mei Lin Mak will be voiced by Sayaka Mashiro (Lanari in Memory Trees: Forget Me Not, and Aurelia Alvarez in Café Memoria). Her twin sister Maiko Mak will receive the voice of Natalie Roers (Hana in Fear Effect Sedna). The mysterious Juen Sun Luang will be voiced by Victoria Wong (Silk in Marvel’s Avengers Academy and Charlotte Chastine in Cyberthreat).

Interestingly, we hear that Mei is half-Japanese, so she will have a heavy accent, but Maiko will be approached differently, and this is due to a “major story detail” that the developers won’t spoil.

We also get a new illustration celebrating the Switch stretch goal and a mention that the developer is working on the possibility of a physical release, but can’t make promises for now.

Sense – 不祥的预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story has an estimated release window of June 2019 for PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch. If you want to contribute, you can check out the Kickstarter page.
