The Muv-Luv series extends way beyond Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative that have been released in the west. Not only it spans a rather extensive timeline, but it touches several areas of its war-torn world, from Japan to East Germany, and from the United States to Egypt.

Yet, the series’ creator Koki Yoshimune would like to make it even more international with the help of its fans, as he told DualShockers during a recent interview at Ixtl’s headquarters in Akihabara, Tokyo.

Yoshimune-san explained that the franchise was created about fifteen years ago, and it was originally targeted at young Japanese gamers. He was really surprised that the series’ popularity expanded all over the world, and is now inspiring the young generations outside of Japan.

The setting itself is not specific to Japan, and Muv-Luv stories can be set in many different regions. That’s why Yoshimune-san is hoping to see talented creators in each nation step forward to create Muv-Luv stories set in their own regions.

He would like to one day be able to collaborate with young artists and creatives from all over the world in making their own countries’ Muv-Luv stories.

If you’re not familiar with the series, you can read my own review of Muv Luv and Muv Luv AlternativeBoth games have recently been re-released on Steam, and they’ll come to PS Vita this summer.

Of course, you can look forward to the full interview, that will be published soon here on DualShockers.
