Splatoon 2’s Next Splatfest Pits Capitalism Against Heart

News, Nintendo, Originals, Splatfest, Splatoon 2, Switch

Just following Valentines Day, Splatoon 2 is making you choose between the two biggest motivating forces in the world: money or love. Obviously, this is the latest incarnation of the series’ signature Splatfest — the PvP faction war where players choose sides on a contentious issue and battle it out for superiority.

News comes straight from Splatoon 2‘s running Tumblr developer blog, where they revealed that “Money vs Love” is the existential choice in the series — obviously a bit more serious than previous Splatfests like “Action vs Comedy” or “Film vs Book.” And perhaps (nay, almost certainly) this event’s participation will be impacted by jaded lovers and hopeless romantics suffering a blow to their wallets after Valentines Day. As mentioned in the Tumblr post below, the Splatfest will take place from Friday, February 16 at 9:00 PM PT to Saturday, February 17 at 9:00 PM PT.

Splatoon 2 is Nintendo’s third-person, squid/kid-based online game for Nintendo Switch and it very much rides the wave of the original game into the new console generation. DualShockers reviewed Splatoon 2 when it released, giving the game a 7.5 out of 10 noting, “how Splatoon 2might make a kid (or a squid) out of all of us on the Switch.”

Splatoon 2 is exclusively available on Nintendo Switch, available now. Check out the blog post below:
