Today, during its CES press conference, HTC Vive announced the Vive Pro, an upgraded version of the current virtual reality headset built for companies and VR enthusiasts,

The headset comes with revamped ergonomics designed for comfort of use and wear, high-resolution headphones with a built-in amplifier, and better optics.

The crown jewel of the headset is a massive combined resolution of 2880 x 1600, which the company claims to be a 78% increase over the current Vive.

At the moment the release date and price haven’t been announced just yet, but you can probably expect this not to be cheap. At all. You can see what it looks like in the trailer at the bottom of the post.

Perhaps even more interesting is the Vive Wireless Adaptor that will work with both standard HTC Vive and Vive Pro. It offers wireless VR thanks to the implementation of Intel’s WiGig technology, and it will ship in Q3 2018.

Last, but not least, we also get the announcement of Viveport VR, which is a sizable upgrade to the Viveport experience. It offers a fully interactive preview of content instead of the usual 2D catalog. You can also check it out on the second trailer below.

This comes just a couple of months after the unveiling of the standalone headset HTC Vive Focus.
