Etrian Odyssey V Gets Western Release Date and New Trailer Introducing the Fencer Class

Atlus announced that the dungeon crawling RPG Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth will launch for Nintendo 3DS on October 17 in North America, European date still “to be announced”.

In Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth players will be able to explore the Yggdrasil tree with their created party of explorers as the ascend the levels and map out their adventure in true Etrian series fashion. It’s said that at the top the tree there is a power to fulfill someone’s greatest wish, but it’s not that easy. There are many bosses, enemies, and other adventures that the player will encounter on their way up.

The game will launch with an early edition containing:

  • 24-page Art Book – Showing concept art and illustrations from Yuji Himukai.
  • 6-track Music CD – An arrangement of tracks from the game from series composer Yuzo Koshiro
  • Outer box

Additionally, Atlus launched a new English trailer introducing the Fencer Class. This class is a balanced member of the party with strong defence as well as offense. Fencers have high evasion, defence buffs, strong chain attacks with other party members, and stabbing techniques. Players will be able to customize their Fencer by choosing whether then want a party member with high speed or stronger swordsmanship skills.
