Following today’s announcement of Terra Battle 2, Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker Corporation provided more details about the game and its sister project, Terra Wars.

First of all, we learn that both games are coming to the west, even if details remain scarce. On top of this, Terra Wars now officially has its own platforms, which will be the same as Terra Battle and Terra Battle 2, iOS, Android and PC. This indicates that it isn’t the console version of Terra Battle, which was promised when the original Terra Battle reached two million downloads.

Terra Wars will be co-developed with Azrest, a Yokohama-based studio that worked on the visuals of the original Terra Battle, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and is currently developing Hey! Pikmin with Nintendo.

We also get some info on the gameplay of Terra Battle 2, which promises a “completely different game-play experience” that will still preserve the core battle mechanics of the original.

There will be a world map, and players will be able to set up their formation before entering battles. We also get the promise of “countless encounters and farewells” for an emotional and intense story.

Terra Battle 2 will be released this year for iOS, Android and PC, and more information on Terra Wars will come afterwards.

If you want to see more about Terra Battle 2, you can check out the announcement trailer, and the teaser videos showcasing its characters, and its soundtrack. Recently Mistwalker also announced a new storyline for the original Terra Battle written by NieR: Automata Director Yoko Taro.
